Abstract

Myopic asymptotic optimality and finite-time knowledge-gradient analysis address different portions of a measurement path. A comparative study should retain pilots and observation assumptions and assess complete runs at practical costs. An early attractive trace can be lucky; an independently checked final decision supplies evidence that local measurement choices were useful before the deadline. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
