Partition Exploration when Robust Objectives Disagree
Abstract
Partition search discovers alternatives, while multi-objective robustness determines which consequences and scenarios make them attractive. Evaluation should vary exploration and tradeoff definitions separately. It preserves component outputs and independently checks final candidates. More sampling cannot resolve an unspecified preference, and a changed weight cannot repair an unvisited useful region. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
