Abstract

Peak-directed exploration can produce a candidate list whose estimates are optimistically selected. Convergence of later allocation does not eliminate that discovery effect automatically. Evaluation should retain the search trace and independently check final candidates, with verification resources reserved in advance. Stability within the discovered list does not establish adequate domain coverage. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
