Opportunity Cost of Membership in a Top Set
Abstract
A top-design group and an opportunity-cost objective require a common final decision to compare efficiently. Membership near the boundary can matter more than precise interior rank. Evaluation declares the group size, exclusion loss, and later checking work. A favorable exact-selection rate cannot express the magnitude of every wrong inclusion or exclusion. This focused synthesis develops an empirical comparison that preserves the terminal action, observation process, and total verification cost. Its proposed tests are prospective; no new simulation run, model-training result, or intervention effect is reported.
